The illusion of reality
"The Illusion of Reality" is a digital photography series created in 2013 as a part of my diploma screenprints.
At that time, simple objects and materials I could find around me inspired me a lot.
In this case, I used paper - to attach it to different interiors and make it look cracked and deformed with digital manipulation.
The idea is to draw the viewer's attention to how we perceive our surroundings. Rarely do we try to consider the meaning of every part of it.
I did this project to show the difficulties of producing meaningful images nowadays. There are too many pictures everywhere we go - commercials, advertisements like posters, and billboards.
Constant marketing, idealization of reality, and visual lies - are bombarding us with "beautiful" stories.
That is why I decided to deconstruct a general view and create thought-provoking works contrary to pleasurable ones. My inspiration also came from the works of the philosopher Derrida.
FAUX exhibition at the Center fo Fine Art Photography , Fort Collins, USA; Honorable Mention from the juror Louise Clements
In 2019 I had the pleasure of participating in the exhibition GESTE PARIS : The truth in disguise. Lots of great names were involved in this show, for example, Marina Abramovic.
